HYPONIC’s journey began with HYPONIC’s founder,Mr. JB Kang’s rescue dog, an American Cocker Spaniel named Woongja.
At the tender age of ten, Woongja Mr. Kang family dog, once full of vitality, began to experience troubling skin issues. Sadly, as she aged, these troubles escalated into a form of skin cancer, necessitating the amputation of one of her ears. Heartbroken by Woongja's suffering, Mr. Kang embarked on a mission to uncover the root cause. His search led him to a startling revelation: the culprit behind Woongja's ailments was none other than the dog shampoo he had been using. Unbeknownst to him, it contained a laundry list of toxic ingredients, many of which have been linked to various health issues, including skin irritation and cancer. Over the course of Woongja's fifteen-year life, she had endured a staggering 250 hours of exposure to these harmful toxins, which seeped directly into her pores, wreaking havoc on her health.
Determined to spare other animals from Woongja's fate, Mr. Kang made a solemn vow and embarked on a journey of research and development. His goal: to create a premium line of hypoallergenic, non-toxic pet shampoos under the banner of HYPONIC. Drawing inspiration from Korea's renowned cosmetic industry, Mr. Kang collaborated with one of the nation's leading cosmetic manufacturers. After years of relentless dedication and rigorous research, the Hyponic Hypoallergenic Shampoo was born. Today, the Hyponic brand stands as a beacon of excellence in pet care, hailed as the premier choice among discerning pet owners in Korea. Its commitment to quality and safety was recognized when it was named the top Korean brand in 2020 by the Prestigious Brand Awards Korea.
